The Queen’s Gambit — Senior VFX Compositor

Scope: Complex sequences involving age adjustment, environmental cleanup, and period-accurate set reconstruction. Work included complex digital breast reductions for a young version of the main character, interior and exterior set extensions, mirror reflection cleanup and replacement, and extensive vehicle and roadside compositing.

Solution: Executed precise body modifications while maintaining natural performance and lighting continuity. Built interior and exterior set extensions, replaced reflections in mirrors, and removed crew, cables, and other unwanted elements on patterned carpets. Performed head replacement. Replaced modern vehicles with 1970s cars on overhead shots using camera tracking, perspective patches, and careful compositing for seamless integration.

Outcome: Delivered invisible, performance-preserving effects that maintained period accuracy and visual continuity. Enabled complex sequences to appear flawlessly shot while preserving the authenticity and storytelling impact of the series.
